We Went Into Iraq for the Oil –

- is one of the great liberal lies. We have not taken one drop of oil out of Iraq. This is in line with the standard liberal cant: The US is evil, and anyone else is just an innocent victim.

Oil is one of the greatest liberal victories of all time. They must be very proud of themselves. Thank a liberal when you faint at the pump. Notice I don’t say Democrat. McCain is just as bad as any liberal where the subject of oil is concerned.

The predicament that we are in is really rather simple. We no longer allow any exploration or drilling in this country, even though there is plenty of oil. We even know generally where it is. We have the technology to extract it with minimal disturbance. We have built no refineries in the last 20 years or so. If we developed our own oil and built sufficient refineries we would see the price of oil drop by half or better quite quickly.

The oil companies that the liberals like to beat up on are captives of foreign interests, thanks to the very same liberals. They do not develop any more in the Middle East because the governments of the Middle East do not allow foreign ownership of oil resources. Even if our own companies did the developing, the Saudis or whoever would own the oil and sell it at whatever price to whomever they choose.

The repercussions of the libs strangling us over oil are far reaching. We cannot decide the price that is fair, we have no control over that. We cannot pursue foreign policy that is in our own best interests. The Saudis (home of Wahabi Islam) dictate much of our foreign policy. Foreign companies and countries own large portions of our major companies and maintain a huge network of lobbyists to pressure our politicians. Never mind McCain-Feingold, many of our politicians are so beholden to Moslem oil counties that they are merely puppets.

Never mind Afghanistan, we were determined to stop them after 9/11 and they were also a bit of an uncontrollable thorn to the Saudis. But consider that the only country we have taken out was run by a secular madman and the Saudis were quite happy for us to remove him. However, Iran is a much larger threat and we well know that they spend millions of their oil revenues to attack us and Israel. Consider that we sided against the Christian Serbs, who had a good bit of right on their side, to support the Moslems, who were invaders. These policies come from Saudi Arabia, not from our own interests.

Our foreign policy is dictated by those who hate us deeply.

As for me, I fully realize that if we pull our troops out of Iraq, the immediate consequence will be that the Iranians will own the country in less that a year. We can either abandon the people to tyranny, as we did to the South Vietnamese, or we can keep a military presence there for many years. Before you listen to the libs scream too loudly, remember that we are still a presence in Japan and Germany 60 years later.

I am of the opinion that we should take oil out of Iraq equal to the cost of this war. And enough every year to pay for the necessary support for their safety.

We keep hearing alternative this, that, and the other. Fine. Let’s start by developing enough nuclear power plants to replace all oil and gas fired plants immediately. In the long term, we also need to develop enough to replace coal fired plants as well. By the way, the coal fired plants are not nearly as dirty as the libs claim. As a general rule, whenever a lib speaks, make him prove any allegations with hard scientific data and keep a firm grip on your wallet. The libs lie like dogs and want to put us all into poverty so that we are government dependants rather than free citizens. I will believe that they are compassionate when the Kennedy’s, Kerry’s, Clintons, Obama’s, Feinstein’s, etc. etc. give some of their millions to charity. Like something higher than 1%, Many give less. And I do mean to charity, not to their own self-aggrandizing tax dodging foundations.

If you check the facts, you will see that conservatives, in general give significantly more to charity than do liberals. George Bush gives over 10% of his income to charity. Ted Kennedy, Obama, Clintons, etc. give mostly less than 1%. I will not trust a bunch who want to use the force of government to do to me what they do not willingly do themselves. Betcha Ted Kennedy pays a smaller percentage of total worth to taxes than I do.

After we have stabilized sufficient energy to keep going, I say well and good, go after alternatives. But - prove the science before jumping. We are doing entirely too many things stupidly just because we think that it is the feel-good politically expedient thing to do. I am all for alternatives that genuinely work to improve our lives and leave things clean. But only when they are proven better.

Pithy Comments -

Pacifists:

A pacifist is a coward. It depends on the individual whether it is physical cowardice or moral cowardice - or both. It is most certainly intellectual cowardice. The pacifist enjoys all the benefits of group membership without any of the responsibilities.

I find it of interest that the majority of the American pacifist groups are of the extremely aggressive terrorist mentality. “I will kill you if you do not give up your violent ways” seems to be the ideology that they espouse. I also find it of interest that they are willing to commit all kinds of indignities upon our people to keep us from defending ourselves. They do not seem willing to get in the way of those who attack us. If they were honest in their goals they would work to stop aggressors, not defenders. It is one thing to do their protesting where the force of law protects their lunatic behavior. It would be quite another thing to protest in the Middle East. Like I said - cowards.

The pacifists of the past used their cowardice to exempt themselves from the responsibilities and dangers of protecting themselves and their loved ones in time of danger. The current crop seems to not only dislike themselves - an excellent judgment - but they seem to hate this country enough to want no one to be able to protect himself or his family. Not only cowards but traitors as well. Know a leopard by his spots.

Morals:

We’ve lost any concept of morality. I’m not just talking about the lack of judgment in screwing anyone, anywhere, anytime, such that half the populous has HPV or some other form of venereal disease. I’m talking about any sense of personal integrity. People no longer seem to understand that lying diminishes their personal worth. They do not seem to base their lives on anything but expediency of the moment and the currently accepted ideas of the herd. Having warm, fuzzy concern for polar bears seems to be more important than forming a firm set of personal mores built on intense self-examination and careful thought. I’m not talking about kowtowing to Mrs. Grundy, but a careful evaluation and thoughtful formation of the standards guiding one’s conduct is a requisite for any rational human.

Politics:

Political positions should be formed after careful examination of the issues and people involved. If the people that line up with your particular prejudices seem to be good and moral people you are probably on the right track. It the people who align with your beliefs seem to be bums, criminals, adulterers, thieves and so forth, it might be a good idea to re-examine your position. You are judged by the company you keep.

Opinions:

Form opinions after careful examination of the facts. Not some nutcase group’s personal blowhard bogus information. Search out the facts. It is ok to take an expert’s evaluation in a field that you do not understand. But if it is a matter that you can comprehend with a little skull sweat, then you have the obligation to learn. Currently people argue from emotion and bias and tend to make up bogus facts and statistics to bolster their precious biases. Do not be swayed by emotional arguments. Get the facts. Be like Sgt. Friday - “Just the facts, ma’am, just the facts”.

Low self-esteem:

This is one of the biggest crocks there ever was. If you do not think much of yourself then it is not up to me to give you worth. It is up to you to become a functional and useful member of society. I can provide you with the opportunity to improve yourself, but I cannot do it for you. Don’t worry about how you feel about yourself, worry about developing some useful skills. Worry about treating others with courtesy and consideration. Worry about becoming useful. Others will recognize your worth. You will then have a decent opinion of yourself. Low self-esteem will not be part of your life. Liberals like to attack symptoms. Low self-esteem is a symptom. Don’t tackle the symptom. It may be that you are not worth much. Attack the cause. Become a worthwhile human. Cure the cause and the symptom will go away.

Respect:

I do not “give” you respect. You earn it. I acknowledge the respect that you have earned. This does not mean that you should feel free to affront the dignity of those who have not earned your respect.

Manners:

Manners are not an unnecessary phoniness. Manners are the little things that enable us to live together without unnecessarily causing anger and offense. Manners enable us to help make each other feel appreciated and good. This does not mean that we should be phony in our daily relationships. Not at all, but courtesy and consideration of others will go a long way toward making your daily life and the lives of those around you pleasant.

Life:

We cannot always control external events. We can control our reactions to those external events. 90% of how we are treated is determined by how we treat others. The golden rule is alive and well. It is a jim-dandy life rule whether you are a Christian or something else. If you are uncomfortable with a Christian concept then what goes around comes around or karma will do just about as well.

You have to respect other’s beliefs:

Nonsense. If someone chooses to believe that the earth is flat, the sun circles the earth, or the moon is made of green cheese it is crap. I don’t have to respect that. I will state that anyone is free to believe any preposterous crap that they like. But I don’t have to respect stupidity. Rosie may believe that the Twin Towers were brought down by our own government if she likes. But that is a really stupid position and I will say so. If someone wants to believe that the earth is supported on the back of a giant turtle, then that’s what they believe, but I don’t have to treat it with any degree of seriousness. I don’t have to ridicule it either. If someone is a Hindu with umpteen-eleven gods, fine. But don’t ask me to act as though that were some kind of truth. Neither will I denigrate them for that belief. Looks like we’ve got a couple of different cases here. There is reasonable religious belief, which, unless it is harmful, we must allow and not denigrate. If someone believes that anyone not of his faith will go to hell, fine. If the belief is that he should send anyone who does not share his faith to hell himself, there is a problem here. Then there are secular and/or political beliefs, which I feel totally comfortable ridiculing. Conspiracy theory, UFO nuts, or some of the wackier cults come to mind.

Environment:

You should keep your house clean. The same goes for the world that we live in. Responsible stewardship is good. This means sensible use of resources. Just as you should not throw your money down a cesspool so you should be frugal in the use of the earth’s resources. This means you should not trash the environment. Stewardship also means that it is perfectly fine to use the resources for our own reasonable uses. Contrary to some of the wilder-eyed nuts, the earth is not a goddess. The earth is our home and the home of future generations. We should use sensibly and pass it on to the next generations in good shape. A good steward passes things on in better shape than when he began.

Children:

Children are not miniature adults. They are incomplete adults. They require care, feeding, love, training, and discipline before they can become successful human beings. Discipline is just as important as any of the other factors. I’m not talking about beating a child. However, some children will require the occasional spanking. Some do not. You must carefully judge what each individual child needs at the time - and your responsibility is to provide what the child needs. Food, shelter, clothes, love, hugs, talking, spanking, medical, whatever. If you do not feed your child you are guilty of child abuse. If you beat your child you are guilty of child abuse. If you do not correctly (and dispassionately) discipline your child you are guilty of child abuse. That includes spanking where indicated and necessary. If you do not love and hug your child you are guilty of child abuse. If you do not impart a system of moral behavior to your child you are guilty of child abuse. If you do not teach your child how to function and earn a living you are guilty of child abuse. It is almost impossible to become a self-disciplined adult if discipline is not part of the growing and learning process.

I do favor spanking where needed. Discipline should be swift, dispassionate (don’t discipline when you are angry), and over quickly. The child’s mind does not work the same way as the adult. Prolonged punishment is not good. I’m always saddened when adults are afraid to discipline their children and let anger and resentment build up to a prolonged time. “You are grounded for a week” is crueler than a quick swat on the butt. A spanking will get the child’s attention, show the disapproval, and unless it is way too harsh, be over in a few minutes. At that time a loving hug can be beneficial. If you do elect to use spanking, be sure that when the discipline is over that the lectures and blame are over. If you are going to drag the emotional blackmail out then don’t use spanking, it is not fair to the child. You also cannot use spanking if there has been a significant period of time between the crime and the punishment. Spanking must be immediate to be of any use.

There are people who do not believe in spanking. That is also ok - if their children are disciplined in some other appropriate way. My observation is that the majority of those who do not believe in spanking raise self-centered, undisciplined brats. Not spanking should not be equated with not disciplining. Not spanking might well be considered child abuse in these circumstances.

Incidentally - giving the child what is needed is NOT giving what is wanted. Denying material junk may be what is best. It is not necessary for a child to have $150.00 shoes. It may, in fact, be quite detrimental to character development. Giving a kid a car on the 16^th birthday may be the worst possible thing. Or it may be necessary. Personalities and circumstances determine the correct move at every turn. You gotta’ be smart to be a good parent. Smart and intelligent are not always the same thing. Sitting a kid in front of a TV or a computer may keep him quiet and be quite bad for him. Taking the time to have a family Monopoly game may be more beneficial. Reading to the kid may take some of your valuable time and energy. But it is worth it.

If you are not responsible enough to think all this through you should not procreate. If you are not willing to give the child anything needed - including your precious time and attention when the child needs it, not when it is convenient for you - then you should not procreate. If you cannot sacrifice 20+ years of your life to grow a successful human then you should not procreate. If you are not smart enough and tough enough to be your child’s parent, not his friend, then you should not procreate.

You do go on about Islam - -

Yes, I do. Islam is incompatible with freedom and democracy. It is, in fact, really illegal under American law.Whoa, hold it, what about freedom of religion? The government does not interfere with religion. Actually, it does. Ask the Mormon polygamists if the government has interfered with their free practice of religion. Ask the practitioners of Voodoo if they are allowed to freely torture animals to sacrificial death. Ask the White Supremacists if they can freely practice their beliefs. Ask the totally anti-gay crowd if their beliefs are being trampled. Ask the Branch Davidians.

Hate speech is against the law. The hallmarks of hate speech are:

1. Drawing a distinction between one’s own identity group and those outside it
2. Moral comparison based on this distinction
3. Devaluation or dehumanization of other groups and the insistence of personal superiority
4. The advocating of different standards of treatment based on identity group membership
5. A call to violence against members of other groups

The Qur’an and the other “holy books” of Islam qualify on all the above counts in spades. Even a cursory examination of the writings of Islam shows the contempt with which all non-Moslems are regarded.

Don’t take my word for it. Do your own research. But go to the sources, don’t just take the self-serving and lying of groups like CAIR. Remember that it is Sharia “holy” to lie to non-Moslems.

Preaching subjugation of anyone who does not believe as you do is not Constitutional. It is one thing to preach, as some of the more ignorant fundamentalists do, that someone who does not believe as you do will go to Hell after they die. It is another thing entirely to preach that you should send them there yourself.

Yeah, I would completely outlaw Islam in this country as it is unconstitutional. I happily work and live with Christians, Jews, Mormons (who are not Christians), Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses (likewise not Christians), Christian Scientists (neither Christian nor scientific), Buddhists, Sikhs, atheists and so on. But Islam is a cancer that cannot be reconciled with freedom and toleration. Their entire history is full of duplicity, lying, murder, rape, slavery, torture and persecution whenever they got the upper hand. Ask the three Jewish tribes around Medina about living in peaceful tolerant co-existence with Moslems. Ask the 270 million who have been murdered by Moslems. Ask the Jews who are blown up by Moslem terrorists daily. Ask the ghosts of 9/11. Ask the ghosts of those who are beheaded by Moslems - a holy act under Sharia law.

It is not that there have not been nutcases who purported to be Christian. There have. But nowhere in the Bible or the writings of the Church Fathers can you find any justification for murder. It is clear in any form of Christianity that is not some nut-cult that while God may hate the sin He loves the sinner. Whenever some nut-cult springs up that advocates hate it is condemned by Christians everywhere.

This is not true of Islam. In Islam Allah hates anyone not a bloodthirsty Moslem. Allah doesn’t even approve of non-murderous Moslems. Islam is a religion of hatred and oppression. Those who commit atrocities are not condemned by the rest of the Moslems. In fact, those few Moslems who do make some sort of feeble protest are regarded as apostates by the rest of the Moslem world.

Like I said, a cancer that should be eliminated from any free society.

Doubtless there will be those, either of Moslem persuasion or, more reprehensibly, American liberals who will accuse me of being hateful. It is not hateful to point out the truth about some group behavior. Is it hate speech to declare that the KKK is a hate group? Is it hate speech to declare that the Nazis were a hate organization? What I say would be hate speech if it were not true. It is. Check it out.

Oh yeah, the Harvard weaklings who gave in to the Moslem’s women only demand for the gym. If any male group had demanded male only times they would have been told to go away. If any Christian group had requested special treatment in the gym they would have been laughed at and ridiculed. But the limp libs at Harvard made the totally wrong move for Moslem women. The correct answer would have been abide by the current rules or don’t use the facility.

This is the same tactic Mohammed used over and over, take a little, take a little, take a little, then kill the people who didn’t finish him off, and start the same cycle all over again until there was no one left to oppose him. Ask the Arab polytheists who had Mecca before Mohammed took over. They tolerated him. He didn’t return the favor. Ask the Jews around Medina. Take a little, take a little, kill. That’s Moslem history. And their holy behavior. Not hate speech.

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled - -

That’s Sean Hannity’s current favorite saying. I think I have to disagree with him.

It is bad enough that the left is running a beauty contest. That’s all it really is. Hillary’s only qualification for office is sleeping with the President. That makes Monica also qualified on the same basis. Even the most rabid Obama supporter does not seem able to name anything that he has actually accomplished. Even his most rabid detractors (when honest) have to admit he’s kind of a pretty fellow and speaks quite well. He can give one hell of an inspirational speech. I don’t see any other qualifications.

The left has preferred form over substance for quite some time now. But what on earth has possessed the right to pimp for someone like McCain? I do respect his military service. I do believe that he will be strong in the face of overt aggression. But people - look at his track record. McCain-Feingold has done nothing to achieve real campaign reform. It is somewhat questionable Constitutionally (I’m being charitable). He was for the immigration forgiveness nonsense - until 90% of the people in this country said “Hell NO”! He is no conservative fiscally. He is going to be the Republican candidate, even though he has a track record of kissing Dems and spurning members of his own party.

As to the President, about the only thing that the next one will do that is of major importance is appointing a Supreme Court justice or two. The leftward leaning judges seem to be able to swear to uphold the Constitution and then just ignore it and do what they wish.

We will get who we get. The Republicans have certainly not earned our votes. The Republican Majority Congress of the 90s and early 2000s did not curb spending and did none of the things that we conservative types put them in office to do. They spent like drunken bums, they had ridiculous scandals. The liberal press will ignore William Jefferson type Dems with freezers full of cash. The press will not hold any Dem to a reasonable standard. Republicans should realize that they will be held to a higher standard.

However - since the President will be a liberal, whether Hillary, Obama, or McCain, the thing that will be necessary to keep the country from going completely down the toilet is going to be the Congressional races. We must fight like hell to put reasonable, responsible, conservative people in the Congress or you can probably start studying your Koran now to avoid the rush. You might also brush up on your Spanish since the borders will be completely open and the illegals seems to think that we should learn their language. (The legals want to learn ours). The libs will pull the troops out as fast as possible and weaken the military as much as they can. Nature does abhor a vacuum and it will not be filled by reasonable people in the Middle-East - it will be filled by those who are not our friends.

If we don’t put the brakes on the leftward slide, your heart indeed should be troubled, for we will not last much longer as a proud and free people.

It is a dangerous world out there - -

I look out across the world and I see a puzzling set of circumstances. It appears to me that there are 5 major players in the world today. The US, Russia, China, the European Union, and the Moslems.The US is getting weaker and weaker. We have people who are far more interested in their own little versions of a welfare state than they are in building a future that is safe and free for their children and grandchildren. We have the legacy of the Vietnam era, the children and grandchildren of that spoiled and self centered lot who are as bad as or even worse. The Code Pink people come to mind. These people will demonstrate and break all kinds of laws to get their own way. Sorta-kinda “we will kill you to get peace”. The same kind of thinking goes into the Eco-Terrorists who will bomb buildings in the name of mother nature; fouling the air, the land and the water with the products of their protests. These people will spike trees with the hope that some poor bastard trying to feed his family will be killed or severely injured when a saw hits the spike. These people will party when someone else is suffering with the smug self-assurance that “they got what they deserved”. We have people who not only would not think of serving in the military, but are willing to tear down our military and leave us defenseless while prating of their precious “rights”. Which rights they would not have without the sacrifice of all the brave soldiers since the Revolution. Let the loudmouths dis Allah half as much as they do Christ when they are under Moslem domination. Hah.

Meanwhile the others are not our friends. The biggest player is the Chinese. We seem to forget that they do not love freedom. While our corporations send more and more jobs to China we do not remember that the avowed aim of China is to run the US completely out of the Pacific Basin and turn it into a Chinese lake. They believe the destiny of China is to rule over Korea, Japan, Vietnam, etc. all the way to and including Hawaii. This country is an oligarchy with a socialist/Maoist veneer. They are benefiting from our trade to build up their own manufacturing capability while we sacrifice our own. They are also becoming one of our largest debt holders. We will be in a world of hurt when they call the bills due, which they are likely to do when it will hurt the most.

Russia. Well - what can I say. The Russians impede our attempts to get the UN off its duff with the same glee they had when they were the Soviet Union. The Russia of today is rapidly becoming a dictatorship again. Dictators need a bad guy to rail against to keep the power. Watch this space for future developments.

The European Union is becoming the tool of the Germans. Don’t get me wrong, I rather like Germans. But - we have seen that they started two World Wars already, and I find it quite ominous that they are consolidating power in the EU. They are gaining quite a bit of territory without firing a shot. European consolidation under German rule has long been their passion. Looks like they are getting there. The recent mess in the Balkans is an eerie replay of the lead up to WWI. France and England will not be willing partners to German hegemony, but both are so weakened with internal Moslem problems that they can do little to rein in Germany.

The whole thrust of Islam is conquest of non-believers. Where Christianity seeks to convert by persuasion and good works, Islam has conversion by the sword built in. Remember that murder, rape, and slavery are regarded as good and holy activities. Under Sharia law it is no sin to lie to an unbeliever, it can even be considered holy behavior. Think about that before you trust Iran’s psycho leader.

England and France are so tied up with Moslem problems that their ability to function is becoming quite minimized and should be a good lesson for those who want to allow Moslems free access to this country. The only countries that I know of that have set the Moslems in their places are Australia and Denmark. The Danes nearly lost it when they allowed Moslems to come in freely, sign up for various welfare programs and vote. They finally came to their senses and started restricting Moslem immigration and insisted that they have jobs and learn the language. The Australians have made it quite clear that if Moslems want to come to their country then they must become Australians, that Australia will not become a Moslem state and that they cannot live under Sharia law. We should take a good look at these two country’s policies. In the county I live in an Orthodox Christian Church was denied permission to build; the excuse used was that it was a foreign religion and that the neighbors would object (there was no survey of the potential neighbors). Hindus and Moslems were granted building permits, and the neighbors did object. Interesting.

And don’t forget all the minor players out there, such as Hugo Chavez. They may be minor, but a lot of minor can be pretty major. The minor tinpots will cheer on our adversaries and rejoice at every little setback for our country. They may not amount to much individually, but collectively they do mean a fair amount.

We can either get a grip and be free, strong, honest and pretty much self-sufficient or we can see our grandchildren conquered. It won’t happen overnight, but unless we make a commitment to freedom and self-reliance we will fall. Guaranteed. And the wolves are out there, make no mistake.

Freedom requires a strong military. Those liberals who want to weaken or destroy the military will leave us in the position of the idiot who brings a knife to a gun fight. Code Pink would do more for world peace if the protested the armies of the people who seek to destroy us. What don’t they understand about the Moslems who murdered innocent  people on 9/11? The Moslems are quite happy to murder innocent people, it is part of their ethos. If we destroy our military there will be more and more murders of innocents.

It might also be noted that if we keep sending jobs and manufacturing to China, India, and other such places that we weaken ourselves to make them strong. When the time comes that we must arm ourselves or die we will have nowhere to manufacture our armaments. We will not be able to defend ourselves with our big screen TVs and boom-boxes.

While it is true that there are wolves out there and that it is indeed a dangerous world I find that the biggest danger is the mindless masses in our midst. God help America (even though we have turned our backs on Him), no one else will.

Why Do You Always Beat Up On Liberals and Democrats - -

Don’t the Republicans do things wrong?You betcha, in spades. However, obviously I am a conservative - original, true meaning. And secondly, the liberal press does just fine crucifying conservatives or Republicans. Look at MS-NBC, CNN, The New York Times, and all the other examples of the liberal press. They do a fine job pillorying Republican mistakes (whether real or imagined).

Take George Bush. Now, I don’t particularly approve of Mr. Bush, but - he is the duly elected Chief Executive and CIC and should be accorded the respect due his office. Would I go into Iraq - knowing what I know now? Probably not. Would I have gone into Iraq with the intelligence that we had at the time? Probably. Saddam Hussein was running a mammoth bluff and had every intelligence unit in the world convinced that he had WMD and the capacity to deliver. And he foxed us as well. This was an error. But, this does not give the left the right to be so totally foul towards our President.

I must also point out that having put our hands to this plow of Iraq we must finish the job or it will be many times worse.

George Bush had an opportunity to be great. Unfortunately he didn’t have enough personal charisma to carry it off in the face of all the liberal hatred and opposition. Even in the early days after 9/11 when the Democrats and the Republicans were reasonably united there were enough negative kooks around to take the wind out of his sails.

What kind of people complacently sit in their places looking like cows when some French bimbo tells them that 9/11 was an American conspiracy? The liberals of Hollywood at the Academy Awards. Sick. The Academy should tell these wackos that if they make political hay out of their awards they will lose them on the spot. No exceptions.

The press and the Republicans made a monstrous mistake in prosecuting Bill Clinton for the Monika Lewinsky business. (Not to mention Paula Jones and all the others). Did Bill do wrong - yes, big time - and the senior members of the Senate and the House should have gone to him privately and told him to clean up his act. The press did not print that kind of nonsense about other Presidents who had affairs. Consider JFK - many affairs - and nothing published during his presidency. There have been others. Sometimes covering the father’s nakedness is better for the country. Of course, these lib newsies don’t care about the country, only about themselves and their agendas.

Since the left successfully hounded Richard Nixon out of office it has been open season on the office, no matter which party was in. Unless there was nothing even microscopically useful for smearing the person. Gerald Ford was pretty clean and straight. Jimmy Carter was elected in a backlash and, although he was one of the worst presidents and biggest fools in history, there was nothing in his personal conduct to smear. Ronald Reagan was completely straight. George Bush senior was straight - he did not lose the presidency to Bill Clinton, he lost it to Ross Perot. Clinton was dirty, but he should have been nailed on his incompetence and illegalities, not his affairs. There is no discretion in the press anymore. Remember that we did not tell the press about Panama or Grenada until they were established facts. The press cannot be trusted not to give information to our enemies. There is no dirt on George Bush junior, so Dan Rather went with a story that was completely fabricated in an effort to discredit him. There is really no need for foreign intelligence in this country. All our enemies have to do is read the papers and watch CNN. Of course they might have some difficulty in separating truth from lies.

The Rosie O’Donalds of the world spew forth all sorts of filth about our president with no concern about the known foibles of their darling Hillary, who has been shown to be less than truthful on more than one occasion. Rose Law Firm, Whitewater, Filegate, Travelgate, etc. Is it any wonder that we are losing any sort of prestige in the world? Why should foreign governments give any respect to our chief executive when our own people refuse to be courteous or respectful? In the military we learned that you always salute the rank, even if the individual does not deserve it.

So, I beat up on liberals and Democrats frequently. I must repeat that I am a conservative, but I am not a Republican, not anymore. The Republicans have left the principles that I hold dear: The Constitution as a basis for all law, applied equally to all people with no special groups favored either way. The essential dignity of all citizens. Fiscal responsibility with no pork barrel spending. Limited government. Firm and impartial application of the law. Tax reform. A strong military. Controlled immigration. I guess that makes me old-fashioned and oddball nowadays. I will admit freely that I usually vote against the Democrat in whatever race. I very seldom find that the Republican is someone I can vote for happily, just that he is likely the least poisonous choice available.

Have no fear, I will slam the Republicans as necessary. If we get McCain, it will probably prove necessary rather regularly. He is at least marginally qualified for the office. If we get Hillary or Obama I will definitely have things to gripe about, assuming we still have a country left. Neither one of those has any experience at all that qualifies them in the least to be Chief Executive. And both have promised to steer us down the road to hell and socialism.

Why I am Against Minorities -

Let me state this as flatly and plainly as I can. I am not in favor of feminism. I am not in favor of the NAACP. I am not in favor of any organization which seeks to promote its own special interests over those of anyone else.I am a strict Constitutionalist. It is unconstitutional to deny anyone else’s freedoms and opportunities. Period. You cannot use sex, race, or religion as a basis for denial of same.

I insist that anyone may apply for any job they choose. Anyone may apply to any University they choose. Anyone may attempt to buy a house in any neighborhood they choose.

However - the employer should also have the right to hire the most qualified person possible for the job without the government dictating who must be hired. The University must be free to select the most qualified applicants with the best grades and not forced to admit people who do not measure up to the quality of learning expected just to meet some quota. The banks must be free to deny credit to those who do not qualify financially.

This does mean that I am opposed to any sort of quota system. I am totally against putting any one group above another group. I am for totally free competition. This does mean that if anyone is not hired or admitted because of sex or gender there are and should be heavy penalties.

However - if the search for the best means that a company is heavy on white males - so be it. If the company, in selecting the best people for the jobs winds up heavily black female - so be it. Let the most qualified people get the jobs.

I don’t want or need to know someone’s sexual orientation on the job. As long as we are all trying to do the best possible job for the company it is irrelevant what makes you horny. I’m not interested and don’t care as long as only consenting adults are involved and it does not affect job performance.

I think that race, sex, religion and all the other garbage that we carry around and get all wrapped up in are irrelevant. I am color blind and sex blind on the job. The only thing that matters in the workplace is the ability to perform.

Does it register that someone is tall or short, black or white, male or female, and all the rest? Sure. The things that are superficial characteristics register but generally are not important to job performance. They just don’t matter to me (and to most people). So - minority types, quit looking for something that exists mainly in your mind. If you do get hit with real anti-whatever discrimination then you can get wound up about it. But don’t see tigers in shadows that don’t exist. All humans are capable of maladroit social interaction, but clumsy behavior does not necessarily equal deliberate and malicious behavior.

In short - it is wrong to deny any group’s opportunities. It is equally wrong to promote one group over another. Reverse discrimination is still discrimination and oppresses ion. Just because the shoe is on a different foot does not change the fact that it is still a shoe.

Actually, I am not against minorities, I am against promoting minorities over anyone else. Or demoting them below anyone else. Level playing field all the way. That’s what I am for.

Democrats consistently Democrats – -

I realize that kicking Democrats rather resembles the bullying that I used to see in school where the dimmest, weakest, and goofiest were always the targets. Oh well. 

Now it seems that Michigan and cannot have the same silly early primary that Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada have. So the Dems say that they will not seat the Michigan delegates – all 156 or so of them. Seems there’s the same deal with Florida’s early primary. Poor Florida Dems – their votes never seem to count. 

I thought these were the “fair play” people. Weren’t these the same guys that made Florida recount the votes many times over? Weren’t these the people that examined chads with magnifying glasses to see if the liberal candidate’s chad had even been touched? Didn’t they want every vote to count? Especially those of liberals. Aren’t these the same people that are always launching lawsuits to stop any law requiring proof of identity or citizenship or anything else that might “disenfranchise” any voter, no matter how unqualified? Heaven forbid we should make people prove that they are citizens or haven’t already voted three times that day. 

And to hell with examining ballots with magnifiers. If someone is too stupid to read and follow the instructions about punching all the way down, then they are too stupid to be voting on important issues. 

It would seem that the fair play doctrine doesn’t hold for Dems – just everyone else. Isn’t that what we should expect from a bunch of people who are fooled by Hilary? She refuses to release any of the legal documents that show her history. She abuses the FBI and pulls off travelgate and is never held accountable by the liberals of this country. She insists that she is so experienced and qualified to lead. If that were so then just living with a surgeon for a few years would make you a qualified doctor. 

Then there’s Obama. Does anyone seriously think that he is qualified to lead this country in a time of terrible Moslem aggression? He is not qualified in any sense. Assuming that the minor difficulty of no management experience, either as a governor or the corporate type is overlooked. Assuming that he would be willing to try to stand against Moslem terrorism there is the point that, to a Moslem, he is not an acceptable person. He is the son of a Moslem father and went to some of the Madrasah training and is an unperson to a serious Moslem. He will not be able to deal with Moslem countries. That doesn’t seem to register with the Dems. He is a pretty fellow and a good emotional speaker – but that’s as far as I can see it at the moment. Oh yes, vote for him and he will bring change. But he never says what change or how he’s going to do it. I’m rather interested in how this pretty boy with zero management experience is going to run the biggest corporation on the face of the earth. 

Edwards? Well, I dunno about anyone else, but I really want someone more qualified than a sleazy trial lawyer who made more money for himself than for his client and who constantly preaches class warfare while paying ridiculous money for his beauty treatments. What on earth is Edwards qualified to do other than admire himself in the mirror while he flops his golden locks? 

Well, I suppose that the candidates reflect the people. I shouldn’t be surprised that what passes for Democrat moral outrage is only directed at Republicans. After all, they see themselves as so morally superior that any action that they desire just has to be morally correct. 

I suppose it is naïve of me to expect people to recognize that correct behavior applies first and foremost to themselves. I believe I remember something about criticizing the splinter in another fellow’s eye when you’ve got a whole 2×4 in your own.

But they never did anything to ME -

Oh yes - the good old “they never did anything to me” argument. So, it is ok for torture to happen as long as it doesn’t happen to you? You can stand by and peacefully watch a mugger beat hell out of someone as long as it doesn’t happen to you? You can happily watch a murder as long as it doesn’t happen to you? I guess so, because that’s what you see on the news all the time.I see horrible atrocities committed by the Sudanese against the people of Darfur. There is a growing sense among libs that they would like for “something to be done”. Well, the only something to be done is going to have to be force. The Sudanese will not respond to anything else. We don’t have any other leverage against them. But wait - the Sudanese never did anything to us. Why should we intervene? Why should the Sudan take precedence over North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan? These do represent threats to us as a nation. The Sudanese do not. Why do libs want to twiddle with another nations sovereignty, and not protect ours? “Is a puzzlement.”

If some jackass mutters a racially wrong word, even if unintentional, I see the press and the left out with cross and nails and hammers. For days. The story gets beat into the ground. But anything like public indifference to crime is just sloughed off. I hear the Al Frankens of the left go on about things that never happened - Tawana Brawley, Duke Lacrosse - but I don’t hear their outrage if a black punk beats up a frail and distinguished WWII vet, I think in Philadelphia, not one word of outrage do I hear from the race lords or the press.

Herself Sez: And what about the couple in Killeen, TX - Todd and Stacy Bagley were kidnapped on the way to church, lit on fire, burned to death and shot in the head by four blacks. This was not investigated as a “hate crime.” In Burlington, NC - A 10 year old white child, Tiffany Long, was raped, sodomized, sexually tortured and murdered by two black males and a black female. The black female so viciously rammed a broomstick into the child, that the parents were prohibited from seeing their dead daughter’s body. This was not investigated as a hate crime. These are ONLY TWO of the many crimes not reported by the national media - while non-crimes are over reported. Back to your regularly scheduled correspondent.

It is horrible if one human damages another. The race or sex or nationality or religion of either party is irrelevant. It is also rather irrelevant what one grandfather may have done to another. There is no excuse. Libs - quit excusing bad behavior of anyone. Anywhere. Any color. Any religion. You seem to think that America deserves anything that comes our way. Nonsense. Quit comforting our enemies.

Are We Crazy Like a Fox . . .

. . . or are we just plain dumb?Here lately the news media has everyone in a snit about the economy. Another example of newsies making the news themselves by getting loose bowels over nothing from all I can see. A recession when we have full employment? Yeah, the stock market does some ups and downs and they report every little correction as though it were the end of the world. Let us remember that the current “down” for the market is still higher than ever before in the history of the thing. Also remember that without a “story” the newsies have nothing to do. If there is nothing to panic about they will make a mountain out of a handful of dirt so that they can report on the new mountain.

Yeah, the banks are hurting a bit because they loaned money to people who were unqualified and/or were buying way more house than they could afford. Let them suffer a bit. There is nothing in the Constitution that says that banks are guaranteed a profit when they make dumb moves.

So, now the government is going to “give” us a tax rebate. First off, how is it giving when all they are doing is rebating the money that we have paid in? I will grant that there is somewhat of a “gift” aspect since they want to use some of my money to give to those who don’t pay taxes, but for most of us it is only a bit of that which was taken from us to start with.

Next, it seems that we are going to be borrowing some money from China. Of course, the Washington crowd says that these are not related. Yeah, and water runs uphill. I don’t really see this as any different than the spendthrifts that charge their plastic to get some ready cash when they are already in hock up to their eyebrows. When you borrow on your plastic the repayment is many times the initial amount. Borrowing your way out of debt does not work.

There are several ways to look at this. Either the President and the Congress have lost their minds and are just spending us into more debt, or there is some clever plan behind all this.

Dumb possibilities - we are just getting more debt and China is just another benign creditor and it will only cost us many times the amount borrowed to repay it. Next dumb possibility - China has always wanted us out of the Pacific, they regard that as their own. They want all Pacific territory up to the California coast and will use this as a weapon to weaken us and call the loan when we are most vulnerable. This also means that they would be totally thrilled to see us destroyed by Islam, which would give them free rein in the Pacific.

Smart possibility - the Chinese have changed their spots and just want us as a valued and healthy trading partner and know that we will spend most of the rebate on stuff that is made in China. This will put them into a position of vested interest in seeing that we remain free, strong, and solvent to be a really strong consumer of their goods. This would also mean that they would have a strong reason to help protect us and the rest of the consuming West from destruction by Islam.

Have the Chinese changed their goals? I don’t really know, but their track record does not lead me to think so.

If the President and the Congress really want to give us a “tax gift” the best thing that they could possibly give us would be the Fair Tax - with no revisions or amendments. Oh yeah, cutting pork-barrel spending would be really nice. If these idiots cut out their fat we could be debt-free in record time.

Fat chance. Odds of the Chinese changing their spots are somewhat better.
